Talwar stable after surgery, say doctors
January 28th, 2011 - 6:12 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 28 (IANS) Rajesh Talwar, the father of murdered teenager Arushi Talwar, is now stable after undergoing surgery at the Indraprastha Apollo hospital in the capital, hospital authorities said Friday. The hospital said in a statement: “Rajesh Talwar has undergone a surgical procedure today. He is stable and continues to be managed by a multidisciplinary team of doctors.”
Talwar sustained multiple injuries after a youth, Utsav Sharma, attacked him with a cleaver outside the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court in Ghaziabad Tuesday.
Sharma, a former student of Ahmedabad’s National Institute of Design (NID), is currently in jail and has been booked for attempt to murder and under the National Security Act as the crime had occurred inside a court premise.
Sharma had also attacked tainted former Haryana top cop S.P.S. Rathore, convicted in the Ruchika Girhotra molestation case, outside a Chandigarh court last year.
Aarushi, 14, was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her parents’ Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida, May 16, 2008. Their domestic help Hemraj was initially suspected for the killing, but his body was found on the flat’s terrace a day later.
Talwar was arrested soon after the murders but let off when investigators could not find evidence to nail him.
