Swamy files complaint against Sonia, NAC
November 16th, 2011 - 4:40 pm ICT by IANS
New Delhi, Nov 16 (IANS) Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy has filed a police complaint against Sonia Gandhi and other members of the National Advisory Council (NAC) for their stance on the proposed anti-communal violence bill.
Alleging that NAC chairperson Gandhi was “committing offenses” against Hindus through the proposed bill, Swamy told IANS Wednesday that he had sent the complaint to Delhi Police Oct 24 but there had been no action so far.
Swamy in his complaint has also named other members of the NAC that has drafted the controversial Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill of 2011.
“In public interest I am sending a complaint in my name against chairperson Sonia Gandhi of National Advisory Council and against unnamed other members of the NAC for committing offences of propagating hate against the Hindu community of India by circulating for enacting as law (the) draft bill,” he wrote to the police.
He said he had written to Delhi Police and would soon approach the high court regarding the matter. Delhi Police officials refused to comment.
