Suspected suicide bomber held in Karachi
June 13th, 2011 - 12:52 am ICT by IANSKarachi, June 12 (IANS) A suspected suicide bomber, who was carrying a suicide vest, detonators and other explosives, was arrested in Karachi Sunday, police said.
Officials from the Criminal Investigation Department arrested the suspect, believed to have links with the banned Jundullah group. He was identified as Salim, Online news agency reported.
Salim was presented to the media, where he revealed that up to 40 children were being trained in the northwestern Waziristan region to carry out suicide attacks across the country. Jihadi literature were being used to “brainwash” the children, he said.
The accused said he was trained at a “fort-like” centre in Waziristan.
He was later shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation, police said.
