Suspected Maoists kill two policemen in Orissa
July 30th, 2009 - 12:58 am ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, July 29 (IANS) Suspected Maoists Wednesday killed two policemen in Orissa’s Keonjhar district, police said.
The bodies of assistant sub-inspector of police Muralidhar Bastia and home guard Hadibandhu Mahanta were found at about 7 p.m. near a road about five kilometres from the Brahmanipal police outpost, a senior district police official told IANS over phone.
The bodies of both policemen, who were posted at the same outpost, showed bullet injuries. “We suspect the hand of Maoists in the crime,” the police official said.
The district headquarters of Keonjhar is about 235 km from state capital Bhubaneswar.
