Suspected Maoists kill two CPI-M supporters
August 15th, 2010 - 2:28 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Aug 15 (IANS) Suspected Maoists killed two supporters of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) in West Bengal’s Jhargram sub-division of West Midnapore district Sunday, police said.
The bodies of Nishikanto Nayek and Shankar Jana were recovered from Nayagram village. They were kidnapped Saturday from near a market place in the area.
Maoist posters found from the spot claimed the two men were killed for being CPI-M supporters, said a police officer.
“We have recovered both the bodies. Maoist posters were found from the spot,” Jhargram Superintendent of Police Praveen Tripathi said.
Maoists are active in West Bengal’s three western districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia.
