Suspected Maoists kill student in West Bengal
June 29th, 2010 - 5:47 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, June 29 (IANS) The body of a Class 10 student suspected to have been murdered by Maoist guerrillas was found in West Bengal’s West Midnapore district Tuesday, police said.
The body of Bholanath Mahato was found lying in a canal near Jamirdiha village.
“The body has been fished out from Kasmar Khal (canal). Maoists are the prime suspects,” a police officer said.
West Midnapore is a hotbed of Maoist activities in the state. Two other western districts Purulia and Bankura are also affected.
