Suspected Maoist from Bihar held in Delhi
April 23rd, 2010 - 9:45 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 23 (IANS) A 32-year-old suspected Maoist has been arrested from Delhi’s Govindpuri area, police said Friday.
“Ajay Kumar Singh was apprehended two days ago on a tip-off,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) H.G.S. Dhaliwal said.
Delhi Police were on a lookout for him as he was wanted in several cases.
Singh was allegedly involved in many Maoist activities in Taryani area of Bihar, including the torching of a police jeep March 23.
“He is suspected to be involved in similar other incidents of arson and Naxal activities. He is associated with the Naxal movement in association with 10 members of Maoist Communist Council (MCC) which is active in Taryani,” Dhaliwal said.
