Sunny day in Delhi, no rains in sight (Lead)

New Delhi, Sep 20 (IANS) Delhi residents experienced a warm and sunny day Tuesday as skies remained clear and rains stayed away. The Met Office has forecast a dry Wednesday as well.

“The maximum temperature was 33.6 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year, while the minimum was a notch above average at 25 degrees,” an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The humidity levels wavered between a high of 87 and a low of 51 percent, added the official.

According to the IMD, skies will be partly cloudy Wednesday but there is no forecast of rains.

“The maximum and minimum temperature will hover around 33 and 25 degrees Celsius,” said the official.

The city has received 618.5 mm of rainfall this monsoon, which is normal.
