Suicide blast kills 20 in Pakistan (Third Lead)

Islamabad, Feb 20 (IANS) A suicide bomb explosion that ripped through a funeral prayer in Pakistan’s restive North West Frontier Province killed at least 20 people and wounded several more, Geo TV reported.
The army has moved into the area.

The blast took place near Shobra hotel at Dera Ismail Khan when hundreds of people were attending the funeral prayer of Sher Zaman, a man shot dead a day earlier, the channel quoted police sources as saying.

Witnesses said the blast took place close to Imam Bargah Kotli Imam Hussain. All markets in the area immediately closed down as the explosion fuelled tension and panic.

Gunfire broke out after the explosion, and the enraged crowds of Shiite Muslims torched vehicles and ransacked shops after the blast, DPA reported.
