Student commits suicide in AIIMS
March 3rd, 2010 - 10:59 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 3 (IANS) A final year medical graduation student of the All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Wednesday committed suicide in his hostel room, police said.
Bal Mukund Bharti, who hailed from Madhya Pradesh, was found hanging in room number 22 of hostel-II on the AIIMS campus when one of his friends called around 6 p.m. Bharti had attempted suicide Feb 18 also by consuming excessive quantity of pills.
According to the police, Bharti could have taken the extreme step after performing poorly in exams.
“We were informed that he was under depression after failing in the examination. We are examining the case,” a police official said.
