Student attempts suicide, alleges ‘torture’
February 3rd, 2012 - 5:07 pm ICT by IANSAgra, Feb 3 (IANS) A Class 6 student attempted suicide here, leaving behind a note in which he accused his teacher of torturing him and asking his father not to spare her, police said Friday.
Angry parents Friday accused the teachers and the management of St Peter’s College of putting too much pressure on students.
On Thursday, Baghesh tried to hang himself in the bath of his house. When the boy’s mother heard a noise, she broke open the bathroom door, to see boy hanging from the shower.
He was rushed to a hospital and revived. He is currently in the Intensive Care Unit of S.N. Medical College.
In his suicide note, Baghesh accused his teacher, Preeti Rajpal, of torturing him.
The teacher had Wednesday asked him to send his parents to meet principal Father John Ferreira. This scared the boy.
Baghesh’s father, businessman Rakesh Choudhary, has filed a police complaint.
