Strong earthquake hits Russia’s far east

Washington, Nov 24 (Xinhua) A powerful earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale struck Monday an area in the Sea of Okhotsk in Russia’s far east, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.The earthquake occurred at 8:02 p.m. and its epicenter was located 314 km west of the Russian city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, the USGS said.
