Stringent charges slapped against woman pimp

New Delhi, April 5 (IANS) Delhi Police have slapped the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) provisions against woman pimp Sonu Punjaban for her involvement in a prostitution racket and murder case here, officials said Tuesday.

“We had decided to slap MCOCA against Geeta Arora alias Sonu Punjaban,” a senior police officer said.

She was arrested from Mehruali area of south Delhi April 1.

The officer said Punjaban is a high-end pimp who supplies call girls to clients in various posh areas of Delhi, hotels and farm houses.

Under the MCOCA, the accused cannot be granted bail easily and any statement recorded in front of an officer of the rank of the deputy commissioner of police or higher is admissible as evidence in the court of law.
