November 1st, 2011 - 10:07 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 1 (IANS) A body of a still-born girl was found in a garbage heap near a railway line in north Delhi Tuesday, police said.
Police are searching for the parents, who are suspected to have buried the body near the railway line.
“The mutilated body of a baby was found lying in a heap of garbage near the railway track in Mangolpuri area around 9 a.m. Tuesday. The body seemed to have been buried as there was mud on it and it seems it was mutilated by animals who dug it out,” said an official.
According to police, the baby seemed to have been born 18-20 hours before it was abandoned.
“We are trying to locate the hospital where she was born,” added the official.
