States empowered to frame RTI rules

New Delhi, Nov 23 (IANS) Different states are empowered to frame appeal procedure rules under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, the Lok Sabha was told Wednesday.
In a written reply to Bharatiya Janata Party’s Harishchandra Chavan, who wanted to know whether all the states had drafted appeal procedures under the RTI Act, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office, V. Narayanasamy said: “The appropriate government is empowered to frame appeal procedure rules.”
