Sri Sri Ravi Shankar aks Maoists to shun violence
January 23rd, 2012 - 12:02 am ICT by IANSPatna, Jan 22 (IANS) Art of Living founder and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Sunday appealed to the Maoists to shun violence and join in the country’s development.
“I appeal to the Maoists to say no to violence and join the mainstream,” said Ravi Shankar at a public function in the Bihar capital.
The spirtual leader, who visited the Maoist affected Gaya and Aurangabad districts in the last two days, said that the rebels should shun violence and take up social reforms.
Without referring to the killing of 13 policemen by the Maoists in neighbouring Jharkhand’s Garhwa district Saturday, Ravi Shankar said that violence affected all.
“There is a need to convince them to join development,” he said.
