Sri Sri condemns attacks on churchesSeptember 23rd, 2008 - 8:04 pm ICT by IANS
Bhubaneswar, Sep 23 (IANS) Spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Tuesday condemned attacks on churches in some parts of the country, saying these violated the principles of Hinduism. He said in a statement: “Acts of violence against any place of worship is totally against what Hinduism preaches. They violate the age-old tradition of tolerance and peaceful co-existence that Hinduism stands for.”
The Art of Living Foundation leader urged the governments of states where such attacks have taken place to arrest the culprits to save India’s social fabric.
Churches have come under attack in recent days in Orissa and Karnataka.
