New Delhi, June 3 (IANS) The in-charge of the Baba Gang Nath Sports Complex in south Delhi was shot dead at point-blank range here after a heated argument with two youths, police said Friday.

The victim, Munirka resident Trilok Singh Tokas was killed shortly past midnight Thursday at the sports complex situated in the same area.

Tokas, who is in-charge of the complex, found the two youth in a public park inside the sports complex late Thursday night at around 11.30 p.m.

As the park is supposed to be closed at that time, he asked the duo to leave. This led to a verbal argument for five minutes and eventually a fistfight.

According to Tokas’s son, Dinesh Singh Tokas, the duo went out of the complex but returned with two others after half an hour. “They attacked the two security guards, and holding one at gunpoint, asked the other to call my father from home. As he came, they fired at him,” he said.

Police said the assailants, who were in their twenties, fired five bullets at him and fled.

The security guards informed the family members and police. “We ran to the spot and saw him lying on the ground in a pool of blood. We rushed him to All India Institute of Medical Sciences,” said Brijender Singh, Tokas’s brother.

“Doctors declared him brought dead. He received bullet injuries in his forehead, neck, chest, stomach and back. We have sent the body for post-mortem,” said a police officer.

“We have registered a case and are investigating,” added the officer.
