Speeding car kills Delhi couple
April 19th, 2011 - 9:47 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, April 19 (IANS) A speeding car killed a Delhi couple and injured their daughter while they were returning home at night, police said Tuesday.
Sukhbir, 38, and his wife Mithlesh, 35, of Burari were killed when a speeding car driven by an engineering student Nishant hit their motorcycle in Mukherjee Nagar Monday night, according to the police.
Their daughter Shivani was injured in the incident.
Police have arrested Nishant.
In another incident, an unidentified man was killed when a speeding truck rammed into a tree in Rohini area in north Delhi Monday night, according to police.
Two people were trapped inside the mangled truck. They had to be taken out with the help of gas cutters and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
One of them was declared brought dead while the other is under treatment, said the police.
