South Korean woman tourist robbed in Uttar Pradesh
July 19th, 2011 - 1:50 pm ICT by IANSGorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), July 19 (IANS) A South Korean woman tourist was robbed by unidentified men inside a train near here, police said Tuesday.
Lee Yunha was Monday approached by three-four youths in the Maruadih Express. They later snatched her purse containing important travel documents along with a CD player, cash and other valuables.
“Lee Yunha was robbed a few km away from the Gorakhpur railway station. She was coming from Varanasi,” Circle Officer of government railway police R.N. Rai told reporters in Gorakhpur, 300 km from Lucknow.
“Investigations are on to ascertain the youths’ identity and whereabouts,” he added.
