Raichak (West Bengal), Feb 9 (IANS) Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly will be one of the judges in a television reality show to select cheerleaders for Kolkata Knight Riders.

The show is to be produced by super star Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment — which co-owns Knight Riders — and shown on NDTV Imagine.

“It will be a class show. Girls will perform and the best will be selected as the official cheerleaders for Knight Riders,” team co-owner Juhi Chawla said here.

“The show, which will start soon, will have rotating judges. Sourav Ganguly will be one of the judges,” she said on the sidelines of a programme by Ambuja Realty for extension of its holiday resort Ganga Kutir on the bank of the river Ganges. She said the girls will be trained by Shiamak Davar.

The cheer leaders will be chosen in March itself through the show, because they have to be ready by April 10, when the high-profile league begins.

Asked about the controversy centring around the cheerleaders’ dresses last year, Chawla shot back: “Have you heard any controversy regarding our cheerleaders? They were all well clad in the colours of our team.”
