Sons kill mother for marrying another man
July 15th, 2011 - 3:18 pm ICT by IANSDhaka, July 15 (IANS) Two young men in a Bangladesh village allegedly murdered their mother after she married another man having been divorced by their father.
The killing occurred in Dhaldope village of Sadar sub-district Thursday, the Daily Star reported Friday.
According to the police, Kohinur Begum, 41, was married to Juran Ali Bhuiyan of Mirpur dyke area 24 years ago. The couple had five children from their marriage.
But Juran divorced Kohinur on a flimsy ground, prompting her to take legal action against him.
The woman later also married Rahmat Ali Mondol of Ghorachara village, which infuriated her two sons Karim, 20, and Salam, 18.
On the fateful day, the sons visited Kohinur at her late father’s home. They took her to an isolated place and allegedly slit her throat with sharp weapons.
Hearing her screams, people rushed to the place and nabbed Karim and Salam.
