Sonia, Priyanka descend on Rae Bareli

Rae Bareli, Feb 14 (IANS) Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and her daughter Priyanka Tuesday made a joint appearance for the first in the Uttar Pradesh election campaign and urged people to vote for the Congress.
Sonia Gandhi, the MP from here, said Congress works for every section of the society.
“Congress … is struggling to bring back Uttar Pradesh on the road to development,” Gandhi said at a public meeting here.
Priyanka, speaking from the same platform, called for a Congress victory for a corruption-free Uttar Pradesh.
Rae Bareli goes to the polls Feb 19 in the fourth phase of balloting to the 403 member assembly.
Neighbouring Amethi Lok Sabha constituency is represented by Sonia’s son Rahul Gandhi.
