Slightly warm, partly cloudy day for Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 9 (IANS) A slightly warm day lies ahead for Delhi Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said here.

A morning fog greeted the city. However, the minimum temperature remained a notch above average at 17 degrees Celsius. The weatherman says the sky will be partly cloudy.

The day temperature is likely to be around 32 degrees. The maximum was two notches above average Tuesday at 30.7 degrees.

According to IMD officials, the western disturbance is to be blamed for the higher temperatures.

“When a western disturbance is there, the temperature is slightly higher. The clouds add to it as they trap heat,” an IMD official said.

Western disturbance refers to storms originating from the Mediterranean sea which bring clouds to the northwestern part of the country. Rain has, however, not been forecast.
