December 27th, 2011 - 2:39 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Dec 27 (IANS) A slight rise in the minimum temperature early Tuesday morning gave relief to the residents of Delhi, experiencing extreme cold conditions for the past few days.
A minimum temperature of 4.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in the capital Tuesday.
Dense fog enveloped the capital city Tuesday morning and the visibility recorded at 8:30 a.m. was 150 metres. The fog played havoc with train services in Delhi and 30 trains were cancelled, 12 partially cancelled, while 13 were running late.
“There is a heavy backlog in trains, leading to many delays and rescheduling of trains,” a Northern Railways official said.
A maximum temperature of 20.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Delhi Monday.
