New Delhi, Dec 27 (IANS) Reeling under intense cold for the past few days, Dehi’s residents got some respite Tuesday with a slight rise in the minimum temperature. The Met office forecast a foggy morning Wednesday.

While the minimum temperature was recorded three notches below average at 4.1 degrees degrees Celsius, the maximum temperature settled at 22.3 degrees Celsius — two notches above average.

The humidity wavered between a high and low of 97 and 41 percent.

Dense fog enveloped the city in the morning and visibility fell to 150 metres at 8.30 a.m.

The fog played havoc with train services in Delhi and 30 trains were cancelled, while 13 were running late, leading to rescheduling, a Northern Railway official.

“There will be fog in the morning on Wednesday but the sky will remain clear in the day,” a Met department official said.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 22 and 5 degrees Celsius.
