New Delhi, April 26 (IANS) After a scorching Monday which saw the temperature touching the 40 degrees Celsius mark for the first time this summer, Delhiites got some relief Tuesday as light winds kept the mercury under control.

Tuesday’s maximum temperature was 37.2 degrees Celsius, a notch below average for this time of the season, while the minimum was a notch above average at 25 degrees, an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Except for Monday, which was the hottest day of April, the month has been quite cool and pleasant, with temperatures staying below average, said the official.

According to IMD, the skies will remain clear Wednesday and strong winds are expected to blow throughout the day.

“The maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 38 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively,” the official added.
