Bhopal, May 6 (IANS) Ten people including six robbers of the gang of slain Dhirendra Singh were arrested Tuesday in Madhya Pradesh, police said. “The police, on a tip-off about the presence of the robbers, laid a siege in the forests adjoining Panna district headquarters late Monday night and nabbed four people carrying food for the outlaws,” Panna Police Superintendent Abhay Singh told IANS on phone.
“They include village sarpanch Kallu and panchayat secretary Kamlesh,” he said.
“On the basis of the clue about the whereabouts of the robbers, the police surrounded them and asked them to surrender. But the robbers fired at the cops in a bid to escape. However, the police also fired in defence and forced the robbers to surrender early in the morning,” Singh said.
