November 11th, 2011 - 12:00 am ICT by IANSLucknow, Nov 10 (IANS) Six prisoners received burn injuries in a fire that broke out in a jail in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad district Thursday, police said.
The fire broke out in the jail’s kitchen while the prisoners were busy preparing meals.
According to jail officials, a preliminary investigation indicates the fire was caused due to leakage of cooking gas in the kitchen.
“All the injured prisoners are being treated at a hospital. Of the six prisoners, four have received over 50 percent burns,” a police officer said.
