Six people found dead in Patna suburb

Patna, July 7 (IANS) Six people were found dead at two separate places on the outskirts of Patna Monday, police said. A couple and their son-in-law were found dead inside their house in Kurji-Muhammadpur locality while three corpses were found near a canal in Phulwarisharief. Police suspect murder in both cases, Phulwarisharief Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dilnawaz Ahmad said.

Tension prevailed in the area after news of the deaths spread. People protested against police inability to prevent crime.

“The credibility of the police is being questioned since last week there was another mysterious killing,” said Ramanand Mahto, a resident.

On July 2, Patna Municipal Corporation secretary Manzar Alam and his wife were murdered at their house in Phulwarisharief.
