Six killed in Uttar Pradesh accident
May 10th, 2011 - 11:26 pm ICT by IANSBarabanki (Uttar Pradesh), May 10 (IANS) Six people, including a woman, were killed and five injured critically when their vehicle rammed into a truck here Tuesday, police said.
The accident took place along the Faizabad-Lucknow highway, when the speeding car ploughed into the truck that was parked on the wrong side of the road.
“While five people died on the spot, another succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. The injured are being treated in a hospital, where the condition of three is stated to be serious,” said a police official in Barabanki, some 25 km from Lucknow.
“Those killed or injured were from different families. The deceased include a mother-son duo,” he added.
