Six killed in Mumbai-Pune Expressway accident
February 7th, 2011 - 12:41 pm ICT by IANSPune (Maharashtra), Feb 7 (IANS) Six people, including two children, were instantly killed when a speeding tempo rammed into their car on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway early Monday, police said.According to preliminary reports, the victims, who have not yet been identified, hailed from Goregaon suburb of Mumbai.
Pune Rural Police Control said the victims were travelling to Mumbai in a Maruti Omni car when the tempo hit their vehicle from the rear just before 6 a.m. The car was thrown off the highway and fell into a ditch, killing the occupants on the spot.
Three other occupants of the vehicle were injured in the accident and they have been admitted to a hospital in Nigdi, near Pune.
