Six killed in Himachal road accident

Shimla, April 24 (IANS) At least six people were killed and fourteen others injured when a bus fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Chamba Valley Thursday, the police said. The State Roadways bus was going from Sanwal to Chamba when the driver lost control of the bus at Deghran, a remote spot on a winding mountain road, and the bus rolled down into a gorge, some 500 km from here.

Chamba district administration officials, including the district magistrate and the police chief, rushed to the spot to help in the rescue measures. The injured are being shifted to Chamba town.

The death toll is likely to rise, officials said.
