Six injured in steel plant blast (Lead)
January 11th, 2010 - 8:59 pm ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Jan 11 (IANS) At least six people were injured Monday in an accidental explosion in the state-run Rourkela Steel Plant in Orissa, an official said.
The blast took place in the spiral welding plant after a box burst, Deputy General Manager (Public Relations) Rehman Khan said. All the injured were taken to the Ispat General Hospital, about 500 km from here.
This is the second accident in the plant after Jan 3 when eight people were taken ill after inhaling toxic gas that leaked from a blast furnace.
