Six held with drugs worth over Rs.5 mn

Ghaziabad, Feb 25 (IANS) Two peddlers were arrested here and four men were nabbed in neighbouring Noida with drugs worth more than Rs.5 million, police said Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police (Ghaziabad) Anant Dev said that the special operations group (SOG) of the Ghaziabad police arrested two men Tuesday night with the 800 grams of heroin worth Rs.5 million that was to be delivered to a man in Delhi.

The duo were identified as Mahesh Chand, a resident of Bharatpur in Rajsthan and Khiva Nand, a resident of Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad.

Chand confessed that he had bought the drug in Bharatpur, police said.

In another drug haul, police arrested four men with 40 kg of hasish in Noida district.

Superintendent of Police (Noida) A.K. Tripathi said the men were transporting the drug in a SUV and were arrested during vehicle checking.
