Six die in Himachal accident
March 9th, 2011 - 3:49 pm ICT by IANSShimla, March 9 (IANS) Six people were killed and 19 injured when a bus they were travelling in rolled down into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district Wednesday, police said.
The Himachal Road Transport Corporation bus was coming from Ani town when it fell into the 40-metre-deep gorge near Nali village.
“Six people died on the spot. Rescue operation is on. Most of the injured were taken to a government hospital in Ani,” Kullu Deputy Commissioner B.M. Nanta told IANS.
Most of the victims belonged to Ani and its nearby areas.
The accident spot is some 120 km from district headquarters Kullu.
