Six Delhi residents killed in Himachal accident
June 4th, 2011 - 9:27 pm ICT by IANSShimla, June 4 (IANS) Six people from Delhi were killed in a road accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district Saturday evening, police said.
All the six, hailing from Narela in Delhi, died when their vehicle fell into a 1,000 feet deep gorge near Nerwa, 135 km from Shimla. The accident spot is located close to neighbouring Uttarakhand.
Four people died on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries on way to a hospital.
The victims had come to meet their relatives in the state, Superintendent of Police Sonal Agnihotri told IANS. “The cause of the accident seems to be negligence of the driver.”
Two injured have been admitted to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla.
