A young man has been arrested, police said.
“As of now we cannot ascertain the intensity of the bombs. For this, we have called a bomb disposal squad (BDS) from Lucknow,” Lakhimpur Superintendent of Police R.K. Bharadwaj told reporters.
“Acting swiftly on a tip-off, we raided a house and managed to defuse all the bombs,” he added.
According to police, the bombs were found in an abandoned house in the densely populated Phool Behar area of Barausa town in Lakhimpur district, some 100 km from Lucknow.
Police believe a group of criminals was using the abandoned house to make the bombs.
