One of the greatest legends from the galaxy of the English football has reportedly departed from this world and his death is surely going to render the glitzy constellation of the sports world a lot lackluster. According to reports, Sir Bobby Robson, the legendary English football boss passed away on Friday, July 31.
The former England and Newcastle manager died at the age of 76 after having waged a very long drawn battle with the deadly cancer for a very prolonged period. After having kept the disease at bay and not let it over power him for almost 13 years, the fighter went down because of lung cancer. He was reported to be at his Durham home in North East at the time of his death and was surrounded by his family in his last moments. He died peacefully.
Since the news of his death have reached the public, tributes have been flooding in from everywhere with mourners evidently very grief stricken because of the demise. Former Newcastle United chairman Freddy Shepherd has said, “He was a great man and will be missed by everyone on Tyneside.” His sentiments are echoed by all.
Just 5 days before he passed away, Sir Robson had made an appearance at the St. James’ Park to be a part of the match that raised funds for his cancer foundation. It had been a very emotional encounter for everyone present.
Sir Bobby Robson has been always regarded to be a honest and just man in all the years that he has been linked to the game, a true gentleman. He stood out because of his tremendous sense of fair play and dedication. One person, about whom, no one had anything bad to say, ever.
