Singur issue is not final yet: Biman Bose
September 29th, 2011 - 12:25 am ICT by IANSKolkata, Sep 28 (IANS) Reacting to the Calcutta High Court order on the Singur land row, West Bengal Left Front Chairman Biman Bose Wednesday said the matter has not yet been finalised.
“The matter is not yet final,” said Bose while reacting to the queries of the reporters on the Singur verdict.
The high court Wednesday ruled the the Singur Land Rehabilitation and Development Act passed by the government was valid and constitutional, paving the way for land acquired from farmers for Tata Motors’ Nano project by the previous Left Front government to be returned to them.
While reacting to the defeat of Left front in both Bhowanipore and Basirhat (Uttar) assembly constituencies in by-polls, Bose said: “No comment should be made on by-polls held within four months of general assembly elections where there has been such a landslide victory. Actually the people are still not aware of the activities of the present government.”
