Lucknow, June 14 (IANS) While a drizzle and cool breeze made for a pleasant Tuesday morning here, light to moderate rain was experienced in several other districts of Uttar Pradesh.

“A cyclonic circulation over eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh is responsible for the showers. The same system is moving towards western parts of the state that could also witness thundershowers,” state Met director J.P. Gupta told reporters here.

“The weather system is likely to prevail till Wednesday morning,” he added.

According to officials, while rainfall in Lucknow was recorded as a trace, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Etawah and Mirzapur districts received rainfall of 12.4 mm, 24.1 mm, 1 mm and 0.4 mm respectively.

A dip in the average temperatures by 1-3 degrees Celsius was recorded in these districts.

In Lucknow, the minimum temperature Tuesday was recorded 28.3 degrees - one degree below the average.
