Shops gutted in Delhi fire
May 13th, 2011 - 7:03 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 13 (IANS) A major fire broke out in a shop under a flyover in the national capital Friday morning, destroying a number of shops nearby. No casualties were reported, officials said.
The fire broke out in a shop under the Defence Colony flyover in South Delhi around 4.30 a.m. At least 30 fire tenders doused the blaze after a four-hour operation, according to officials.
All the 58 shops under the flyover were gutted, said the official.
He said an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire.
