Shifting out of law ministry not a slight: Moily

New Delhi, July 12 (IANS) Having lost his job as the country’s law minister in the latest reshuffle, M. Veerappa Moily Tuesday said he should not be “hanged for the mistakes of the administrative machinery” and did not consider the shifting out as “a slight”.
“The law minister should not be hanged for the mistakes of the administrative machinery,” Moily said, even as he blamed the media and some “vested interests” for whom his legal reforms were “unpleasant.”
“It is not a slight. I do not consider it a slight. Nobody can slight me, Moily,” he said in reply to a specific question.
Moily said his new assignment as Minister for Corporate Affairs was “an opportunity and a challenge” and he would perform the responsibility handed out to him by the prime minister and Congress president Sonia Gandhi diligently.
“I am not upset. Whatever responsibility is given to me, I will perform. The reforms I bring about in the new ministry too will be unprecedented, as I did in law ministry,” he told NDTV.
Asked about the recent controversies involving his ministry, Moily said that was a campaign by “vested interests”.
