A police spokesperson said nine promoters and staffers of Club Virgin, some 10 km from here, were booked for trafficking the women and peddling them to customers visiting the club.
“We have arrested nine promoters and staffers of the club. The women were being pimped in the club premises and were forcibly kept there,” the spokesperson said.
Several of the rescued women were formerly employed in Mumbai’s dance bars.
All the rescued women have been sent to a protective home.
