Severely stabbed body of student found in Chandigarh
July 31st, 2010 - 4:47 pm ICT by IANSChandigarh, July 31 (IANS) The severely stabbed body of a 22-year-old female student was found Saturday under mysterious circumstances in Sector 38 here, police said.
According to the police, the deceased was identified as Neha, a resident of Sector 38. Her body and abandoned scooter were found near a taxi-stand.
“Neha had left her home Friday evening but did not return. Her friend’s brother saw her scooter parked near a taxi stand and informed her family members. Following this, they informed the police and the dead body was found lying near the vehicle,” said a police officer.
“It seems that Neha was murdered with a sharp-edged weapon and was severely hit by stones. We have sent the body for post-mortem,” he added.
