Seven policemen suspended for custodial death in Ghaziabad
December 14th, 2008 - 6:59 pm ICT by IANSGhaziabad, Dec 14 (IANS) Seven policemen in Ghaziabad, including two sub-inspectors, were Sunday suspended after a first information report (FIR) was lodged against them for killing an innocent person in police custody.Earlier, the police had picked up Yogesh Tyagi, a suspected criminal, from his Atmorta village in Ghaziabad city for interrogation, and he died in police custody Saturday.
Agaitated people held demonstration against Tyagi’s death. The police had claimed that Tyagi died in a hospital “due to fits”.
