Seven Maoists killed in Chhattisgarh
December 11th, 2009 - 2:28 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Raipur, Dec 11 (IANS) Seven Maoists were gunned down in a 10-hour long battle with the Special Task Force (STF) Friday in a forested stretch of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region, a police officer said.
“It was one of the heaviest gun battles we fought in recent weeks. Dozens of insurgents managed to melt into a thick forest to avoid police firing but we killed seven,” District Superintendent of Police Amresh Mishra told IANS.
