“Seven people were killed and 10 others injured when the vehicle rolled down into the gorge near Bharmour town this (Wednesday) noon,” Superintendent of Police Madhu Sudhan told IANS on phone from Chamba, about 400 km from Shimla.
He said the injured were admitted to a district hospital.
“The passengers, belonging to a village near Nurpur town in Kangra district, were returning to their village after paying obeisance at a temple near Bharmour,” he said.
“Negligent driving may be the main cause of the accident,” another police official said.
