Seven killed in collision
March 28th, 2011 - 2:46 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, March 28 (IANS) Seven people, including a woman, were killed in an Uttar Pradesh town Monday when a speeding truck rammed into a jeep they were travelling in, police said. The accident left nine injured, of whom four are in critical condition.
The accident took place in Poorva town of Unnao district. While the jeep driver died on the spot, the truck driver escaped after the accident.
“The condition of three-four people is stated to be critical,” police inspector Khursheed Ahmad said in Unnao, some 60 km from Lucknow.
“The jeep was ferrying locals. Those inside were passengers from different villages of Unnao,” he added. The truck has been seized.
