Seven killed in Chhattisarh road accident
December 14th, 2010 - 1:42 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Dec 14 (IANS) Seven people were killed when their car collided with a speeding truck in Chhattisgarh, police said Tuesday. The accident took place around midnight on national highway 200 on the Raipur-Bilaspur road in Simga area, around 50 km from here.
“The deceased were in a Maruti Van that collided head on with a speeding truck. Five people were killed on the spot while two others succumbed to injuries on way to a government hospital in Raipur,” said B.N. Sharma, in-charge of the Simga police station.
He added that four other occupants of the van suffered multiple fractures and had been admitted to hospital.
The passengers were returning home after attending an engagement ceremony. Police are looking for the truck driver.
